Event Details
Modernity and technology dominate most of human existence. Yet, there exist a few societies around the world where tribal culture is still untouched by the pressures of today’s modern world.
Fran Meckler, award-winning documentary photographer and Bay Area resident, takes us on a journey in Fading Traditions: Papua New Guinea in Color, giving us a taste of the country’s sprawling beauty and deeply entrenched traditions. “The land of the unexpected,” Papua New Guinea is a country where few tourists journey and where long-held traditions have been preserved. Through Meckler’s work, viewers will have the chance to explore this largely uncharted land and gain a broader perspective of life in this corner of the world.
CONNECT is an avenue for like-minded individuals to interact and strategize on the issues that matter. Held each month, CONNECT events give global change-makers, artists and entrepreneurs the opportunity to share their work and inspire others. Come network and find out how you can connect with the World Affairs community!
Reception and exhibition viewing from 6:30-8:00 PM. Remarks by Fran Meckler begin at 7:00 PM.
The exhibition is open for complimentary viewing Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM and during World Affairs programs.
A portion of all sales will support Peace Players International. For more information and contact details, visit www.franmeckler.com.
